Update: BootMan 1.20 has been released, and available at
http://shop.cellphonesoft.com and
My-Symbian.
BootMan is a small UIQ utility that does the following:
- Lets you select applications that you want to start automatically when turning on the phone
- Each autostart application can be configured to have a delay or message when launched
- You can specify the flip mode for each application
- Reboot from software
- Edit the system startup greeting
- Display of boot-related system information
Download BootMan from
CellPhoneSoft (product documentation also available) or
My-Symbian. Feedback is welcome here or at
support@cellphonesoft.com . Enjoy!

Is it just me or are we in a stage of gimmick apps rather than truely useful apps? No offence to the develops but i tried it and quite honestly couldnt think of a reason to keep it on my phone.

As long as it will not cost WAY ABOVE WORTH, i'll be quite
interested. Otherwise: LOL
FrontView for $5,- (or were it Pounds?) is balancing
on a thin rope between overpriced and quite-fair.
Just compare things with Windows XP or Photoshop or
3D StudioMax.

HAHAHAHA!!! Just tried it out!
Why in the he*l should I buy this app when I have Sman freeware???
Sman has all these features which are in Boot man and most of the features in FrontVeiw!
And Bootman doeīsnt even work! The program crashes when I click "add" -to add new application in the startup!
And I readed at my-symbian.com that I should be able to use this app with flip closed! - that would be the best thing with the app then! But it isnīt in it!!
HAHAHA!! I donīt think nobody is going to buy this app! Why donīt just make something useful????

I installed it on my phone today, and so far so good. Sincerely, I'll keep it if it stays free. I only use it because I have no MS Duo at the moment, so auto-start on SMan does not work.

Off topic but going back to my initial comments further up about 'real useful apps' here's something I'd like and havent come across anything yet that will do this..
1. Allow you to optionally link an SMS into the calender as an event rather like the journal feature in Outlook.
2. Monthly total of SMS messages sent
3. The ability to schedule a predefined SMS from an event in Calender ie a birthday greeting.
Anyone know of such an app that does primarily 1 & 3?

- individual configuration for the following:
- flipmode-dependant execution
- delay between executions
- optional message
- convenience functions (reboot, startup greeting)Quote:crashes when I click "add"What phone/version are you using? Does it always happen to you? Any additional observation that can help us fixing?Quote:should be able to use this app with flip closedBootMan is flipmode-aware, that is the startup execution can behave differently depending on flip mode, according to how you configure the individual applications to be launched. BootMan itself works in FO mode only, as doing the configuration would be rather inconvenient in FC mode.
