Due to dire upgrade options with Singlepoint, I decided to take a free Sendo X, migrating from Singlepoint to Vodafone retail. The problem I'm having is that the Sendo doesn't latch onto the network with the simcard that holds the account being upgraded, nor will another Vodafone simcard. It's definitely not some sort of individual SP lock (as it doesn't reject the simcard straight away) and since the simcards work straight away in other phones, it's not a case of waiting for the simcard to be activated. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

the new voda sim will be dead until the transfer date which on a singlepoint to voda upgrade isnt always straight away like a normal upgrade... Also get the store to double check that all your details have been passed on and that the info they have matches the info singlepoint have 100% otherwise they will reject the upgrade straight away...

Bloody awkard things those type of upgrades but if everythin on that side is ok then ask for an exchange handset as it could possibly b this...

And the sendo x is an ok phone... does a lot for nothing... Plus the same menu as 6600.... i was told by sendo rep that sendo actually helped make the 6600 and 7610 and 6630 menues after there big fall out with microsoft...

Anyways hope this helps.

The sim was working fine in other phones, and other working sims were not working in the Sendo.

After spending more time with the Sendo, I decided I wouldn't keep it anyway, it has a lot of nice ideas such as the today screen, sd card, decent battery etc. but it feels unfinished, I found quite a few problems and judging by some of the forums I was reading on the Sendo X, it's not going to get much support. It is a real shame, Nokia should look at the Sendo X design and take some of its improvements.

So, I took it back the next day, the sales person agreed that it was faulty and I took a 6630 instead, after using the Sendo I fancied Series60 for a change, the 6630 seems decent so far. It looks like (thankfully!) my service provider changover has gone through smoothly, I don't know for sure but it looks like I'm on the new one as service like voicemail have been activated, which I've always had turned off.

Thanks for taking the time to reply,
John

As far as I'm aware, this is how the story goes...

Sendo wanted to move up the market, and develop a smartphone so they started working with MS to produce the first MS smartphone. Progress was good and the Sendo smartphone was in late beta. MS however, wanted to encourage other manucfacturers to use the MS smartphone OS, and gave details of Sendo's implmentation to HTC,(they make the Ipaqs, XDAs, MDAs, SPVs etc.), which Sendo were not happy about so they pulled the plug on their MS phone and switched to Series60 and Symbian instead. However, it's taken far too long for the Sendo X to come out, it was supposed to be here around March last year, and it still doesn't feel finished.
