Has anyone seen the artcle in today's The Inquirer ( http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=20916 ) about a foil which you stick on one side of your mobile phone or laptop battery and it can increase the usage time.

Does seem odd but I found a website ( http://www.xtremecomputing.co.uk/review.php?id=116 ) which did a review of it with a P900 and a Vaio and found it significantly increased usage time:
Quote:
P900
Normal use (no calls or phone usage) 36.7 hours

Heavy use (used m3 player for this to constantly drain the battery) 6.3 hours

Normal use (same as above but with Batterylife activator) 59.3 hours

Heavy use (same as above but with Batterylife activator) 8.2 hours

Anyone had first hand experience of this product?

Heard of this a while back but sounded a bit far fetched. I don't recall any proof but it seems this time there is.
I'd still like to hear people real-life experience though

I bought one, don't waste your money. Didn't seems to increased battery life, the only thing I notice that was difference was my battery charged up faster than normal.
BTW. It was advertised as "increased talk time when your juice is very low" I never let my batt. get that low, so I can't say that it's not going to do what it claims to do.

Even though 99% of them are inferior fakes. (all with a manufacture date code of 02W46)

Lemme be sceptical...
Doesn't the p9xx only support LiPolymer accus?
And does the Batterylife not only work on LiION accus?

Nonetheless, i tend to believe that it'll may work somehow.
But i do not believe, that this will be as big a deal result as in
the review you mentioned.

If this is so damn easy possible, i wonder why no accu-manufacturer
does implement this "technology" into their accus...do they?

The Li-Poli battery still IS a Li-Ion battery but a bit thinner cuz they use a special polymer to manufacture it slimer.
