Got the the hbh-30 today. I'm very pleased with it, a tiny review.
Hardware version R2A
Firmware version CAH109737 R2B
The headset comes in a green SE box, looks quite the same as the t68i box. In the box you'll find a headset, charger, car-cradle, carrying case and user manual.
This may sound stupid, but it certainly needs pratice to put the headset on your ear in a smooth movement. I need to use both hands, otherwise it takes about 20 seconds to get it right. The wearing comfort is very good, much better then the hbh-15/hbh-10.
The car cradle is a neat little gift from SE but to be honest, they could have made something nicer of this. It's just a very cheap little piece of plastic.
Carrying case is okay, same quality as the one that came with hbh-15
Operation of the headset a also exactly the same as hbh-15; pairing, transferring call, voice dialling, resetting, etc etc, all the same.
The only thing different with hbh-15 is checking battery status, it's the same system as with the hbh-20 now. Pressing volume up and down together when headset is on, one, two or three green LED flashes, battery low, medium or high.
Sound quality better and also a bit louder then hbh-15. This probably is due to the fact that the speaker is more or less in your ear and with the 15 the speaker was on your ear.
I think this headset is better then all the other models from (Sony) Ericsson but it probably can't beat Bluespoon.
Retailprice in Netherlands is around € 250
Just found a little note in the box that I hadn't seen before:
In 6 languages:
"For optimal performance with t68i, the t68i should have software version R2E006, or later"

So have you tried to use it out on street?? Is it lod enough?? How about the incoming and outgoing sound quality?? Will the sound quality get worse as you further away from your phone?? Also, how long is the boom, shorter than HBH-15?? Thanks for your review.........

Got it from a large telecom store in Amsterdam, I actually work there
Most prices I've seen on the net are close to 250€.

Serious, sound on volume level 8 is really loud!
Unfortunately sound does get worse if you move further away from the phone. This is logical I think, bluetooth or not, it's just a transmitter and a receiver you're working with.
Boom is a little shorter then 15.
The hbh-30 sure looks a lot more "normal" then 15.

UK website Expansys offering the HBH-30 for £136.30 (just in stock today apparently). I think that equates to about 215 Euros.
Anywhere cheaper in the UK?
