very tidy app! however it uses more (valuable on my P900) ram, and offers less features than the mighty freeware SMAN. Does this app do anythihg SMAN doesnt?

The SMan file manager is horrible! I've always used a better one, previously FileMan & now HandyExplorer.
Also this isn't an app u leave running in the background so I don't see how the amount of RAM it uses should be much of a problem

Miks right, and if you use sman, you just close it off when you want.
Handy Explorer offers a "preview" function for suitable files such as .jpegs, so if you have a folder of a few hundred pics that you dont want clogging up your main Pics folder, you can use this app to find a file without having to open each one. This has proved invaluable to me.
Oh, and its GUI is very attractive too.

@MikLSP:
What is wrong with SMan's file manager? Is it too slow and laggy? Do bear in mind that SMan was designed for speed, convenience and practicality.
We could make SMan fancier, but it'll take more memory, and slower interface. So, do let me know why it's horrible. Maybe we can improve SMan.
I do know for a fact that SMan v1.3 uses about 100K memory after initial startup, and v1.4 only eats 92K at the moment? Most smaller apps eat more memory than SMan. I'm so upset to read this thread...

Sman is an excellent program. I love it! I think the filemanager is fine, never had any problems using it at all. Would a tree type view (ala windows explorer/handy explorer) be a massive overhead? I think some users find it difficult to navigate as is (been spoon fed on windows, they think a command line is something to do with the army...) Dont be upset mate, most of us value your dedicated work and rate Sman as the No 1 essential app!
