Hi guys. How are you?

I have a small problem with my P900. When I open the flip of the phone, the phone doesn't actually recognise that the flip is open. As a result, I cannot use the touchscreen functions. I was just wondering if any of you guys can help me out?

Many thanks in return.

Check the little pin in the bottom right hand side. Is it stuck?

No, it isn't stuck. At first I thought that no contact is being made with the pin by the kepad. By using a screwdriver, I pressed the pin up and down but no luck. May be it's faulty????

that would be my first assumption, but before I jumped to conclusions I would take the entire flip off. Once it is removed, then try the screen, if it still doesn't work then its a problem with the phone. If it does work with the flip removed, then it is the flip. You can easily buy a new flip, so cross your fingers for that option.

If the pin is up but the phone is not recognizing it, try wiggling it around a bit to see if you can actually get it to even flicker into the open flip mode. If you can, then the little button has a dry connection to the board.

As the others said, try taking the flip off the phone completely. Turn the phone off and back on again. If it comes on in flip-closed mode, then it's definately a problem with the pin, in which case you'd need to get the phone repaired.

Is the P900 still under warranty? If it is then take it to your nearest Carphone Warehouse or SE Service Center and get them to fix it for you.

If it's out of warranty i'd be more than happy to take a look for you.

Hope this helps.

To the last person who sent a message: can I have your details please so that I can send the phone to you? Can you also tell me how much it would cost to repair the phone? Thank you very much.

Can i just ask where abouts you're based, and what you'd like doing to your phone? Then i'll give you a quotation.

Thanks.
