A gold plated phone, made by LG Electronics sold for HK$38,888 ($ 4,987) in a charity auction placed in Hong Kong.
"The phone was made to commemorate LG-Hutchison contract on handset supply and presented to Chairman Li in June, 2004 at “Celebration of the Launch of LG 3G Device”,

IMO - Gold isn't the fasion anymore. People don't like gold, its all about the funky looking silver coloured things.
Gold is so... 2000.
