hi im about to buy a new phone but don't know which one i should get. im thinking of either a k700 or p800. i just want something that can play mp3's and movies. and thats not expensive.
what do you guys think?

Both the K700 and the P800 will allow you to play mp3s and films, but with some differences. The P800 has memorystick support, which means that you can potentially store many more mp3s than you could with the K700, it also means you could use much larger movie files than with the K700.
Having said that, alteration of the mp3s' bitrate would mean that you could store more of them on the K700 than you wouldnormally be able to.
It really comes down to whether you need memorystick support or not, if all you want from a mobile is the baility to play mp3s and watch films.

Other things that you might also want to consider is that the P800 is more of a PDA-phone while K700 is more of a Cam-phone; the camera quality of the K700 is better than P800; P800 is bigger and heavier than the K700i; and K700 has an FM radio while P800 doesn't.
Weigh everything including of course the physical design and then decide which one is more pleasing/useful to you.

well im kind of leaning on the k700 now. im only 15 so theres no use for a PDA phone and the p800 also looks bulky. do you guys have any other phonesi n mind that would be nice?

P800 has a 4096 screen, but with smart movie player, you can play any files on it. Plus the screen is bigger, in landscape mode, the movie viewing would be great.

I think it'll do good for you, just make sure you get it flashed to the latest software version if not already so and you shouldnt have problems
