i still get this horrible sound no matter what... i hoped for better sound, or possibility to switch off. Video camera beep is more better and acceptable... Was sony erricsson made to this sound to reach some dB because of some laws in some countries?

Yes, the shutter sound is there for obvious reasons, however it can be removed by using Setool

The reason for this could be due to some legal pressure......as you know there's concern about privacy.
