For me
Up = messaging
Down = Phonebook
Right = Media Player
Left = Alarm Clock

Also - I use the templates folder alot (not with a shortcut though), but it lets me 'write' (send) alot of messages without even swivel it open. Think I have like 10 templates with standard replies/questions like "Yes", "No", "See ya" etc.
