Hi,
I have a Z1010 on Orange - there's some problems with it (mostly with the bluetoth implementation), and I have been trying to get a firmware update to fix the problems.
To start with, the firmware is R1K010 - which i think is the latest firmware anyway.
In anycase, I've bought an unlock cable, AND a DSS-25 sync station to try various things.
In the end, I've used Totalserver.net to unlock the phone, and flash the R1K010 bios version thats free of Orange customizations.
It all seems to work ok, but I have some questions for those out there knowledgable on these things...
Flashing the bios from totalserver was expensive, and I don't want to have to buy a credit whenever a new bios is released. So is there a free way of doing this in future? I've tried using sony's update service, at
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]5_7&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10048 but I get the message "There is currently no service for devices belonging to your operator"
I got this message both before I flashed from totalserver, and afterward. All the orange customization is gone, so the phone is effectively "sim free" - so maybe this message is saying that there are no firmware updates later than my current version.... i hope so! Can anyone conform this?
Thanks,
Robert

Hello,
You can use Setool to change your CDA and customization deatails so you can use SEUS. I have not tested this but i know others have.
