Hello people, I'm currently using Handy day 2004 and for those familiar with this software, I'ms ure you know that there is a function where you can create URL shortcut on the desktop mode. The thing is the shortcut always gets link to the default SE internet browser. Does anyone have an idea how I can make Opera as my default browser and hence all links created will be linked straight to Opera? Thanks for your input. Cheers

yes I want to know too how to make Opera as the default browser! I would also like to know how to make it as default when I open html pages in Sman... I donīt want them to open in the inbuilt browser!

I have a Text application (like Note pad) and it opens all .txt files by default when I click them in Sman! (before they just opened in the default inbuilt veiwer)

I think we canīt configure this by our self. As I donīt know about any application! We must just contact the developers of Opera! Or maby we could make a request to some developers to make a application which allows us to have the programs that we want as default veiwers!!!

Anyone tried looking at the Pxxx registry? Perhaps it's a simple file association issue, similar to that of Windows.. ?

Yes i know, but every operating system has file associations.. otherwise they wouldn't know what to open with.

All i'm saying is, check the Pxxx registry, might be a list of file types and their default application to open in, for example

.HTM/.HTML > In Built Web Viewer

Might be able to change it to Opera?

I don't have any experience with changing registry entries or files on the Pxxx series, so maybe somebody who knows about it could possibly help out? I've hit the roof of my knowledge here so i'll have to pass this subject on to somebody else!

heheh... ok... I will ask some developers that I know... and maby make a request for a program which allows us to choose what programs are default.... Donīt you people want that???? agree here, so we can see if there are more Pxxx users here that find a need for this....

while I agree wth the principal, you'd have to think though that if it was that easy Opera would have included an option themselves to make it the default browser. After all, if people are installing it they probably don't want to use the internal browser

btw, I don't recall seeing any kind of registry editor, or internal settings editor (like tweakUI on pc for example). are there any?
