Bookmark topic
Have been an SE user for some time now with the briliant Z5 and then the T610. When time came to upgrade the K700i seemed perfect for my needs, as a good phone with intuitive menu, etc.
When it arrived it was what I expected: a much improved T610. Since then the thing has been a disaster. Battery life is barely more than a day and a half with very moderate use and it has a fundamental problem on the UK 02 network with texts that don't come through. So much so that 02 has now withdrawn the model and even working through a full-product recall. Any other similar stories?

@lauriecad - Well, that's been a common problem here mate. Upgrade the firmware to the latest one, sure will improve battery life and remove 'some' bugs as they say . . . about your other problem, better visit your local network pal

I thought that the 'disaster' you were saying back there was the . . . TSUNAMI

Very different, never heard of such a problem. Might need a good flash

Hi, Sorry: not sure how to check firmware. I know that there is a firmware update but it isn't supported by 02 (one of the 'Big Two' networks in the UK). The problem with the K700i must be big for 02 to take them off sale and recall them, especially when it has been so popular!
Cheers
Laurie

@lauriecad - I guess your problem can 'easily' be solved by our co-member who happens to have the same fone model under the same network- O2 (same problem too)

Will the real slim shady PLEASE stand-up and help . . . LaurieCad

Well mate, this is due to o2's fault, not the SE phone
Go onto the watchdog website on bbc.co.uk and check the post about o2. They f**ked up big time, the chagred some woman £119 extra for like cancelling her phone and carried on to bill her and stuff. Puts me off o2 forever.

Flash it with a generic firmware and say goodbye to your troubles.

The problem that o2 has with k7 and s7 is well known and doesnt seem to be solved by any firmware upgrade...however the surprising thing is only a fraction of these models seem to have a problem with o2 and if you happen to be one of the unlucky guys then you can get it exchanged by any of the other phones they'll offer you like 6230 etc etc. O2 messed up big here coz they continued to sell these phones even tho se had admited to a problem with their network n now they offer to take them back in exchange if you want.
