> Hear other people's conversation in my K700

I am changing my cell phone carrier to T-mobile. It's in the process since the previous days. I turn on the cell phone (Sony ERicsson K700i) today. I am able to call out but not able to receive call yet. I guess I will be able to do that soon.
However, there was something weird during I pressed "1" to dial to voicemail. There was fine when I first dial to voicemail. But it tooks long time when I call the second time. It took long time but still no voice. Then I heard someone's conversation in my phone but not the voice mail welcome message. I was surprised about it. I have two questions and wonder any of you know about them:
1. Did anyone hear someone's conversation in his GSM (Cingular, T-mobile, Orange, etc) phone? If so, how did you resolve the problem?
2. Is the GSM phone able to turn itself on? I saw my K700's screen on and off for couple second. But I was sure that my phone I turned it off beforehand.

I have never heard of "cross lines" on a mobile phone. I never throught it was possible.
I don't know about it turning itself on.

It shouldn't be fake product (I guess). I used it with my Cingular (other carrier) SIM card and it worked fine. Same as you, I never thought it was possible. But I also thought that the call was mistakely connectec to that user during I called the voice maill. If so, that's the T-mobile's fault.

On any digital network, I don't think a cross-line can be possible. The only way you could hear a conversation on the other end is if you were accidentally joined to a multi-party conversation by the person on the other end which was a wrong number in the first place.

Well I went through a similar problem, On christmas day I was at a Mall, when I made a call to my friend's cell...Precious dialled the number but it got connected to some lady..!
I called !DEA Cellular and asked the reason, they said such instances are rare and due to over traffic in a particualar area...
Also I remember when Reliance cdma was lanched in India , two years back they also had cross connect CDMA...

Yep. During I was calling my voice mail, the person I heard seems talking to someone. I was not 100% sure because I hung up the phone.
It could be similar as yours.

I can hear only one person talking not the guy at the other end too. I.e, i can hear only the customer case guys talking. Not the guys who is speaking to them.

I seem to recall an incident, similar to this, quite some time ago now. That chap involved was able to hear other people's conversations on his mobile. I can't remember the name of the thread, but if anyone wants to search for then I would suggest starting in the P800/P900/P910 forum as I used to post in there almost exclusively, so there is a good chance that that is where it is.
