I recently installed PhoneSecure on my P910. What I liked about the app was that you can send a txt msg to your phone with a code and the phone then becomes totally locked. Nothing you can do with it, even after the phone has been turned off.

Anyway. On Saturday night I was at a party and when it cam time to go, i noticed my phone was totally missing...gone... i went mental. I was with laods of friends so figured one of them had it but they didnt.

After about 5 minutes I got annoyed and used a mates phone to activate this lock. When you lock the phone, a very loud and annoying alarm also goes off. So with the message sent it would soon become clear who had it.

You can also set a message for it to display when locked. I set it to say "please call 07770 xxxxxxx" which is my girlfriends number. About 2 minutes after i sen the message a friend called to say she had the phone. Her husband had the P910 too and she hand mistakenly thought that my one was his one, so no real harm done but I dont think I would have found the phone so quick if not for the app.

Would recommend it!

Really cool, before the thief decides to get the sim card off the phone. This message was posted from a K500

Wasn't the phone locked when you got it back? Or is there a way to unlock it again?

Also, what happens if the phone is on silent? Does the alarm still go off?

Sounds like a great app

Well obviously you can just have your phone do a Screensaver lock, which I have it do aswell.

But heres the really clever part.

If someone nicks your phone and puts their SIM in it, the PhoneSecure app will then SMS a preset number of your choice, using the theifs SIM and account, the MOBILE TELEPHONE NUMBER of the SIM that has been inserted by the theif.

I think thats genius!

Very clever but how will this help? Unless I recognise the thief's voice how will I be able to track it down? The police are not concerned to follow up such petty crime!
