i bought a faulty t630 off ebay and i think it might be barred. i fixed the phone and got it working again, but now it says "searching" for ages then says no network, this is with my current o2 sim which works ok, the imei matches the one on the back of the phone.

If it was barred, it would rub it in your face and make sure you knew.

It doesnt sound as if it is barred to me. If it was barred then it would have reception but would not let you make phone calls. As already mentioned it is most likely a problem with the antenna.

If it was barred it would come up with 'invalid mobile' on the display, so it isn't barred. It sounds like you've had it apart, I'd suggest taking it apart again, and making sure the antenna is snapped back into position properly, and all the screws are tightened properly (but NOT too tightly!).

I had a similar problem with a T610 I'd just replaced the screen on, it turned out that I simply hadn't put the antenna back in position properly!
