Quick question, I have a Motorola BT Headset paired with my P910i, when I try and use the voicedial I get the message "speak after tone" but dont get a tone! If I wait and then say the name it repeats the name and rings it, so that is working, just no tone!
When I first paired them I got a tone for a day or so but ever since then, no tone!! Any ideas??

Hello

sorry just couldn't resist,
1) if it works why worry about it ? You obviously have the timing in your head for the gap between "enter your name" and the tone not going off,
2) does the tone work on the phone , ie with the flip open using voice dialling ? or is just not being tx'd to the headset?

Same problem here but with car hansdfree - no tone but voice dial works. One other thing not working is caller name presentation. I think it is a firmware version bug. This message was posted from a WAP device

This supposed 'Caller Name' bug when using a bluetooth handsfree has been discussed before. You can clearly hear the caller's name being said if you are using a wired headset or a hardwired in-car handsfree but NOT when the phone is using a bluetooth or any other wireless handsfree kit, because it takes a while for the phone to connect to the headset/handsfree if it's wirelessly connected. By the time the phone and the headset establishes the connection, the 'caller name' would have been said already. A wired connection doesn't have this lag, that's why you could hear the caller's name being said. This message was posted from a P910

I have read and understood all that has been said about the "time lag" etc with using a bluetooth headset. What I cannot fathom is why it actually works with "caller presentation" and the tone for a few days after "pairing" and then stops presenting and the tone!!!! Thats the issue! Any ideas?

Since you are using a Motorola, have you e-mailed them regarding this particular problem? If so, what is their response?

I, for one, am using 's HBH with my phones and I don't have your "not able to hear the tone" problem.

I'm using a Jabra 250 (Non v) with p910i, slight lag for the tone between push and response but acceptable.

never had a problem when I used it with my Moto v600, probably the very unstable "new" p910i I have now. Its the third I have had (each replaced due to a fault), the first SE since having an Ericsson T28 years ago (excellent phone) and probably the last SE I will be buying!
Did think about changing to an SE headset, but why should I? These things should be compatible. I'm convinced its the phone, as it is fine for a few times then the tone etc stops. PAir them again and its fine!!
