does any bluetooth work with the k700i? i was looking at prices and they are quite expansive (for brand name ones) ... will those cheaper, no name brand work also? is there something i need to look out for when buying a BT usb adapter?

The only thing that will probably differ from the branded and the unbranded ones aside from the price, are the durability, the speed, and range. Check the specs of each and ask the vendor which ones among the unbranded ones are the most durable in their experience.

. . . agree here! It's really nice using it when transferring datas from the PC to the fone

as I am adept in using the IR one before having bought the one for the Bluetooth.

Nothing that can't be resolved AFAIK. I wouldn't recommend IR, it's too slow and inconvenient. I suggest you get the good quality cheap unbranded bluetooth dongle you can find.

In addition to whats already been said you have choices in terms of the range that the dongle will work over. 10 or 100 metres. I use a 10 metre which is absolutely fine.

While I was looking for a good bluetooth dongle I actually bumped into 3 ranges 10m, 25m, and 100m. There were 2 speeds too 700Kbps and 1Mbps. I don't really know if these speeds and ranges are real but they are definitely worth looking into when you compare different types of BT dongles.
