> Flash k700i using DSS-25 / DCU-11

Hi guys,
Tried using the Devinci software to remove the sick Orange brand from my k700i ... however I'm having problems trying to get the software to open the necessary Comm port. When attempting to read my CID, I get the following error:

The software recognises that my DSS-25 is installed, but cannot seem to connect to it. However the original SE sync software has no problems synching my contacts ect. I've downloaded the DSS-25 driver from Devinci but the update doesn't seem to be working.
I placed another order for the older DCU-11 today in the hope that it might work with Devinci; can anyone on the board advise if the DCU-11 is better at working with Devinci compared to DSS-25?
In the meantime I managed to update via SEUS, took around 8 minutes and my Orange phone seems to be running quite a lot faster now. Some small changes, although the short cut menu (and My Friends) options are still disabled.
Anyone had similar problems like me!?

I had exactly the same problem and posted a thread about it a few days back. No one seemed to know what caused the problem though.
I've ordered the T28 service cable now which should hopefully arive today. I'll tell you how it goes, but i can't imagine there will be any problems.

Make sure that the files get installed properly ie. use cmd.
In my case two files were read-only, so you have to change permissions on those!

Also, I found that mine wouldn't work as Com13 but after deleting it and a few other com ports in Device Manager and re-connecting/re-installing as Com5 all was fine.
Procedure should be:
* Install SE DSS-25 drivers from zip from SE website
* Install patch from Davinci (post above) (do this from a command line so you can check it works ok, maybe even do the copy actions in the batch file manually)
* Reboot
* Plug in DSS-25 and let windows do it's thing
* Check com port is a low number
A handy tip is to add an environment variable of
devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 (Properties of My Computer, Advanced Tab, Environment Variables) This will show you disconnected hardware in device manager when you do View... Show Hidden Devices. i.e Lets you delete com ports that are currently not in use, like the bluetooth ones.
