Hi!
I recently decided to change the housing on my P900 which was a bit battered.
After much fiddling (the new housing did not include the on off, camera and internet buttons!!). I got the thing back together again.

Lo and behold it would not start up from the on/off button. It will however light up play the opening screenshot and sounds when it is plugged in to charge it. Have I lost something as there only seems to be a small metal rectangle on the PCB to coresspond to the button?

Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

I suggest you open it again and have a good look at the button, making sure the outer black plastic button is pushing in the tiny button mounted on the PCB.

The button on the PCB should just be a tiny silver box, with a visible button facing towards the case.

Check it out.

Thanks for the info.

I have in fact now tried a couple of different housings. The "button" on the PCB is a little silver box with a black plastic rectangle in side it. the black plastic does not appear to move. Could this be the problem??

Buttons on the housing are just plastic tabs, when pushed it make contact with button attached to mother board. Make sure nothing is blocking it.

This link has good pictures of all parts when phone is taken apart.

Just had a good look at the button on the PCB and it looks like this is the culprit. On a tutorial for changing the housing it shows a picture of the PCB with the button which is a small metal rectangular case. Mine is missing the outer casing.

The button had been a bit hit and miss in the past few weeks and I guess taking the unit apart had finally allowed it to drop to bits.

Does anyone know where I can buy a PCB switch from so I can solder a new one in place?
