I've had a T610 for a while, and I'm not satisfied. I want a smart phone, something that can use bluejacking apps like sman and something that has a decent internet browser.

Also if the phone could connect my laptop to the internet in the same way the T610 does then that would be cool. I'm looking for a phone like this, and the P800 seems to fit the bill, but is there anything else the gurus can tell me about it before I buy?

Also, price is an issue, - poor student alert so I'm hoping to somehow swap my T610 for the P800 and maybe pay a litte towards, like PartEx but can't really afford too much. Not sure if I really trust eBay for this, what do you guys think, could I do it?

I've no idea what the asking price is for these units, and I'm not sure what the difference is between this and the more advanced Pxxx series, but I hope that it can do what I want.

Any help by the phone gurus would be greatly appreciated

p800 can be had for around £80-£100 but for a little more you can get a P900 which you would possibly be happier with. not sure if its still available but we had a P900 in the market forums yesterday going for £165 unbranded and unlocked and there was another for £180

worth considering anyway

You reply pretty fast eh, thanks for the tip. Why do you think the P900 might be a bit better, any particular reason, cos that price might be a little bit too much for me at the moment.

As for the P800, I take it that's £80 - £100 secondhand?

well you get 56k colour screen which will impress you much more than the 4096 colours. the stylus is more professional feeling and IMHO gives better control than the horrible plastic tacky thing on the P800

I could go on but there are loads of comparison threads for P800 vs P900 but if its out of your range then not much point me banging on about it

yeah £80-£100 would get you a good used P800

Would definitely say you go for a P900 or P910. Had a P800 then upgraded to a P900/P910. And you the difference is noticeable Nuumber of features on P910 that are clearly better such as screen, improved jog dial etc

If price is an issue try aand a get a second P900 they are going for a bit cheaper

Just my humble opinion anyway

If html browsing is what you need, there are nokias which can do that pretty well. The P800 is good, but it has become too old. This message was posted from a T230

Hmm, thanks guys. It would seem that the P900 is the best bet, I will get it if the funds show up. I'm planning on selling my T610 which should get me a bit, and then I've enough to get the P800 definately, maybe a bit of eBay action will see me through to the P900.

However, with my tendency to break phones, I'm sorta wanting the P800 maybe, cos I know how clumsy I've been in the past. Put it this way, the P800 kicks the T610's butt any day right? So maybe I'd be better with that, I'm sure I'd find it the best I'd ever used, and I could always wait and get a P900 in a few months when the prices go down a little bit.

Another question for you guys, can the P800 run all the same apps that the P900 can?

EDIT: Oh, almost forgot - are any of the trusted sellers selling a Pxxx at the moment or in the future?

I'll suggest waiting a bit and finding a relatively cheap P900! Keep on watchig the mobile phones for sale thread. You might get a good deal. This message was posted from a T230
