Hi all, i just received 4x 512MB sticks and when i insert the card into my laptop's memory card reader, it requests it to be formatted.
It gives me the FAT32 option but the memory size drops to 232MB once its formatted
Now that does not sound right! What am i doing wrong?
PS. I formatted another stick using the phone. I don't know how to check the size on the phone though.
Please help clarify!

Thanks @ O2, that was helpful. I am left with 468MB free and thats with nothing on the stick...that is weird.
I would like to now copy my original 32MB stick's content onto the 512MB one, to do that i know i have to make copies on my laptop and then copy it across.
However, if i insert the stick winxp asks me to format the stick again...which means i cannot copy the files across...
Any ideas?

can you use the stick that you already formatted on your computer in your phone? if so, just use that one to transfer the data. what happens after you format and lose the space? can you then format it with your phone and regain the space without the need for windows to reformat? also, have you tried this with another computer to make sure that's what the problem is. it sounds like it might be bad memory.
