Hello everyone.
Just a quick question regarding the V800... I just bought one from CPW and quite like it but I seem to have a slight bug in my display which might be just mine, or with V800 in general.
Basically, whenever I'm looking at the screen and shake the screen gently (similar to if I was looking at it on a bus or something), then the screen divides into lots of horizontal shadows lines which look as though the interlacing is going wrong.
Not sure whether I'm conveying myself clearly but I was wondering whether others had the same symptoms.. Would be grateful if other V800 owners can let me know whether they find anything with theirs.
Summary: Look at screen, shake phone gently (sideways movement, say), notice screen becoming covered in tiny grey "shadows".

Edit: It's horizontal shadows, not vertical

All TFT screens are like that...I think its because of the refresh rates.

Sorry, but I have never, never noticed it on any other phone, certainly not in a manner as noticeable as it is on this V800...
Anyone else find this problem to be particular to the V800?

Any screen shouldn't act like that even when shaken hard. You have a faulty phone in your hands. Send it back and have it replaced. The ribbon connector might not be attached properly, that's why it suddenly goes haywire when shaken.

Thing is, it's not very significant as such - I wouldn't put it as strongly as the screen going "haywire". It's more of an annoyance, like a mask with lots of fine horizontal lines has been placed over the screen...
I wish I could take a picture of it but for obvious reasons it's next to impossible to capture exactly what I'm seeing. I will try other V800s tomorrow at the shop I bought it.

I have not seen that on My Z600. You could move the flip very slowly back and forth. left and right to see if there is a weak connection.

All high resolution(and high pixel density) tfts are like that...its not noticeable 90% of times n the other 10% is also noticeable if you're quite observant so many people will just miss it.
EDIT: Also it seems to be noticeable with backgrounds of a certain color...for ex its noticeable when i'm browsin esato forum light...its visible in that grey color thats there, infact now that i think of it thats the only place where i've noticed it mostly

1. Went to the very large Vodafone store on Oxford Street (London) where they literally had about 12 working V800s on display. It was the same symptom on every single one of them.
2. A software upgrade to R1J did not solve the problem.
3. I still don't buy that it's a common thing - For example, I've had numerous computer TFT screens (never noticed), the SE Z600 (never noticed) and the SE S700i (also never noticed).
4. I checked out a shop S700i to see if it had the same problem - nope. It's just the V800 and the repair engineer seemed to think so too.
So, is there no hope for the V800 in this regard? Why do my eyes have to be so darn sensitive?? I like the phone otherwise but I can't even stop looking for it - I keep shaking the screen as if to remind myself that it's still there... just like a dead pixel on a TFT that you keep looking at (with a deep sigh
)
If I can't find any solutions in the next day or so, I'll probably exchange it for an S700i...
