Hi,

i have a p910 and have recently noticed what i beleive is a dead pixel at the top left corner of the screen (white).

Its noticable during normal use, but when i press the power button for example and the confirm screen appears, the dead pixel turns into a normal one! Same with the startup & shutdown videos, it dissapers then too!

I've tried restarting and changing themes, but no luck

I was under the impression that dead pixel do not 'appear' after manufacture, but they appear during the manufacturing process - not after purchase.

Has anyone else experienced this?

EDIT: Ive also just noticed that is also dissapers when i close the flip! WTF

Thanks
Jon

This is the first time that I have heard a 'dead pixel' behave like that. If that is only due to a improper connection of your screen to the board, then you're in luck because that could be fixed easily. But if that is really a dead pixel behaving erratically, then you are out of luck. Even if your phone is still in warranty, a single dead pixel can't be claimed under it. Believe me, I've checked. OMG!!!

I knew hat i didnt have it before i installed key mapper 1.0. so i uninstalled it, yep, you guessed it, its gone!

fyi, i had the cam and net buttons set to perform actions when held.

thats stupid tho, why would it do that? i recommend that it any1 has a suddenly appearing dead pixe then try uninstalling some software, especially system stuff like key mapper.

I also nearly got caught out with this when I just bought my P910i & was ready to take it back to shop for replacement. I'd have looked a right idiot!

@Jon

Really recommend MagicLauncher if you've not tried it yet. Using that with HandyDay2004 (not HD2005) makes for excellent navigation around your P series

Your dead pixel did not disappear. It is still there. A dead pixel means that the pixes does not change colour. Most the times it is white. If the picture on the screen and the surrounding pixels are white, too or a colour close to white, you won't be able to see it. It camouflages itself in the surrounding pixels, but it is still there.

@ResidentEVil,

For the purposes of not sounding too geeky, I said in my 1st post that it was "what appeared" a DP - hence not 100% certain.

Actually, the apparent DP has DISSAPEARED because it was infact not a DP after all but a possible incompatablility issue with 910s and keymapper.

I know what a dead pixel is, and even if it was "camouflagged" i think the colours on my phone change enough times to "de cam" itself son't you think?
