> K700 White Screen Crash

I unbranded my Orange K700 last week to R2AE EU1 using Davinciteam and a DSS-25 and since then it tends to crash with a blank white screen (mainly happens when it's left in standby for a long period of time). I thought it could have been a bad flash and reflashed the phone with the same firmware again (used the same files I downloaded from the first flash) and left my phone on over night to find out if it had done any good. It hadn't.
Should I try a different EU pack of the firmware to resolve this? Anyone else had this problem?

Try putting a friend's SIM in your phone and seeing whether the crash still occurs.

I had a problem once where my k700 used to crash 1 minute after being switched on, but it happened only for one SIM card. If i change the SIM card, it never crashed. Finally i did a master reset and it solved the problem

I'll try another SIM card and see if it still happens. It's worth a go. My SIM isn't old (only a year) but the contacts are a little marked from being reinserted into different phones (I work in a shop that sells phones and my SIM card tends to get used to test phones people bring in). I also had 3 T630s that had crashing problems with the same SIM but one I sold from the same batch was fine so I guess it's worth a try.
Also, the phone tends to crash a lot on start up. It gets to the Sony Ericsson screen (the black one) and just sits there. This has happened on the original firmware and the new firmware. Anyone else had that problem? Again, it only tends to happen after the phone has been off for a long time.

Some of Orange's 32k sim cards have problems with Sony Ericsson phones. Could be the same with your mobile service provider's sim cards. Try a 16k sim. That may solve the problem.

I've had similar probs wiv my new k7 on a new sim which i got on the upgrade,does'nt happen too often tho it seems to happen when the phone is doing a lot,like listening to mp3 while transfering stuff.

Well I took your advice and tried a friend's SIM card this afternoon and the phone came on without any problems. I'm glad you all suggested the SIM card because I couldn't get the phone to turn on at all this afternoon with my SIM card but as soon as I tried someone elses, it worked.
Registered a new SIM and the phone's now working perfectly... just hope I won't get a white screen crash now.
Thanks for saving me cash on reflashing the phone once again.

If you've got the latest firmware - you shouldn't have too many other problems!
When I spoke to Sony Ericsson (India), they weren't even aware that their phones had problems with 32k SIM cards! (Especially SIMs from Orange)
