Route66, a Dutch navigation company will be the third player on the market to release it's navigation software for UIQ. Route66 is unique because it doesn't need GPRS cards to load maps.
The package will cost 299 euro which includes the Benelux Maps (don't know for other region) on a 128MB Memory Stick Duo which fits P800, P900 and P910! Also the package is equiped with the latest 2006 software and has a Bluetooth GPS antenna included.

In the Netherlands it will be this week in the shops!
TomTom will be out in several months but will have different and more features but will only be available for P910.

The guy on here who was testing TomTom said it would be available for the P900 as well. Has this changed? What about P905's? Is it just a memorystick size problem?

That's me!
TomTom requires more RAM, it will run on P900 but it needs all the ram so sometimes it get's stuck!

TomTom will probably presented with 3GSM.

How bad does it get stuck? Like, "have to take the battery out" stuck? I was looking forward to TomTom's offering as well....

Well you can navigate with it but it crashes when you get an incomming call or something...

It could work properly maybe with only TomTom on a MSD. But the version I had was minor the commercial version will have more features which I get in about several weeks to give it a final test.

So it's not recommended to do it with a P900 but it is not impossible but I didn't recommended so don't come to me if it doesn't work.

Though Route66 isn't that different from TomTom but TomTom has some features I know that route66 doesn't has.

I hope I can show pictures after it is presented, but now I have a NDA , Probably I've said to much already!

I will get a review version next week (Route 66).
I'll be unable to test it on my P800, the 2-year-old-fellow has taken his last breath this evening.
Test will be on P900 and P910!

Extra Features on TomTom different from the ordinary TomTom Mobile (Part from navigation with MSDcard):
1) - POI's download
2) - Traffic info (optional) download
3) - Download new maps
4) - Navigate by car, bike or on foot!
5) - New dimension of route calculating: fastest or shortest
6) - Down- and upload your route from the TomTom community!

I will explain what these features are because those features where in a Dutch newspaper today but they didn't went into detail.
I will :

1) Points of Interest download, local MacDonalds etc. and get in contact with them!
2) Don't go into trafficjams or speedcams .
3) Having only a UK map, but plan to visit the CeBit you just need to download the city of Hannover. No need to buy full germany map.
4) A new GPS antenna which you can use around your neck.
5) They added to get it working by foot!
6) You can make one before on a computer and download it on your phone, or if you are on vacation and you would like to drive a sight-seeing-route you can download it!

*Note that these features are for all new TT-M devices

Probably TT-M for UIQ will be shown in Cannes so maybe I can tell more after the weekend (but these are rumours, and I don't know how much they will show).

Today Engin launched their plans to produce navigation for mobilephones. It works like Wayfinder and works with all Java phone: yes also K700 etc.
