Anybody got any ideas.

I can select the messages and get the little warning screen, but when I confirm the delete.... the message(s) are still there.

is the phone locked or branded? if not, try putting in a sim from a different operator (preferably non-prepay) and try deleting messages with that sim in. this will help determine if it's the sim or the phone.

and don't worry, there are lots of things that sparkly brand new p910s won't do - mine wouldn't make a sound. a format helped. i suggest the same as a last resort if everything else fails.

First switch is off, take the battery out for two minutes. Then re-insert batt, power up and try again.

I had the same problem. I tried doing as Residentevil suggests but to no avail. I also tried a master reset and that didn't work either. Neither did using the sim card from my T610

In the end I used SE's online firmware update and that solved the problem. So if, after trying Residentevils' suggestion and any other suggestions that appear on here, you might want to give that a go

I fully agree. What a drag!

@Kippax: are the messages you want to delete stored on sim or in the phone? and if on sim, were they saved by the p910 or by a previous (non-ericsson) phone?

This should not be expected from a company's flagship model. This message was posted from a T230

Sad but true. It wasn't just the deleting text mesages issue, it also seemed to be the only cure for the Sman 1.3 crashing problem as well as a number of more minor issues.

In fairness, my phone is locked to orange and as such has all of the branding that you would expect but having said that, the orange branding remains even after the firmware upgrade (yes, i've checked and the firmware version is different to what it was previously!) but the phone is behaving much better.

To be honest, I can't help thinking that SE seem to have 'rushed' a lot of their more recent phones. The K700i and P910i came out at approximately the same time and from what I can gather, they both seem to have exhibited various problems to a number of unlucky customers

I'm still happy with my phone though

Yup. No doubt The phone is very good. But sometimes, the smallest bugs are the most annoying! This message was posted from a T230

The phone is great, except the appalling battery life and the fact I had 3 in the space of a month and a half!
Any ideas on the battery life?
