Hi Guys
I'm new (as you may guess from the contents of this post), and I was just wondering if there is such thing as a RAM style working memory hardwired into the P900 (in addition to the stated 16MB). Reason I say this is two-fold. I have Handy Day and in the menu for "Running Apps" it gives free memory as around 8MB when minimum programs are running. Secondly, I have a London Street map program by Visualit, and when I try to run it, it gives a low memory message. Any way around this? I have the 32MB card - could I somehow use this?
Thanks!!

No, memory refers to RAM, your 32mb card is "storage" or similar to hard disk space. The only way to get more RAM would be to upgrade to a P910...

JazzyJives: That London streetmap is ace - I use it too. The biggest problem is if you're trying to navigate around the join between two of the 'tiles', you have to keep switching back & forth. It would be nice if there was a certain amount of overlapping of tiles to prevent this.
Anyway, there are a number of programs available that allow you to see the programs that are running and shut them down (the way Symbian works is to leave programs running until something else wants the memory. This means that if you go back to the program, it'll appear instantly, but it also uses slightly more battery and some programs - such as London Streets - will give "Not Enough Mem" errors). Sman is free and will let you shut down unneeded programs to get Streets running. Also, if you're interested in customising your interface, Tracker will let you do this and also has it's own 'Close All Programs' option.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I used Handy day to kill everything possible (and then exited Handyday) leaving only "phone" and "applications" which cannot be killed, and still no joy. Tell me, are you using it with a P900 or a P910?

Sorry! It seems I lied! I just tried it and it DID work! Unfortunately, it used up so much resources that I could not start up another program to kill it (it doesn't have its own exit command). I ended up having to shut down the phone, even the flip did not fix it. Anyway, can't complain - it's working at least!
