Hi Guys,
Does anyone know of any software which will allow the switching of a view (especially documents) form the normal vertical "letter" type to a horizontal "landscape" style for the P900. I have the viewing filters for Office and pdf docs, and they would read much easier horizontally as it could better fit a page width.
Thanks!

No I don't think so. There's a skin for Tracker that's supposed to be like Windows XP in landscape but it's not a proper solution. Some games run in landscape (like Soldier Ants), but there's no way to get everything to go landscape. It would be especially nice for, say, Opera to allow landscape browsing, but don't hold your breath.

Hi Gardar,
Thanks for that....I've just tried it and the concept is good, but in practice it leaves a little to be desired, namely, what it actually does is allow you to pan around the screen with a "zoom window". Combined with this it also allows you to rotate the screen to landscape. The downside is that the resolution suffers slightly, even in hi-res mode it is a little blurred. Also, it does not fill the entire width of the screen in landscape. And the biggest drawback is that since you are navigating using the "zoom window" within the screen, you need to scroll around to see the whole screen - in landscape view it has positioned the screen still in letter format, if you see what I mean. It doesn't "fit" as such. Anyway, its a step in the right direction. Lets hope it gets updated.
Regards!

It should be possible just to tell the OS to rotate the screen. Everything on the phone will then be in landscape. Once the workload calms down a bit with Soldier Ants and the flight sim I might have a quick look at this... should only take a few hours.
Cheers,
Tom

Floss: If you could sort that out (and especially if it worked for any app) then I'd have to add an extra couple of candles to my Floss-worshipping shrine that I've built because of all the good work with Soldier Ants......
.....erm, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned the shrine.

my JAM has inbuilt screen rotation

you can have portrait or right handed or left handed landscape
just another reason I have that and not the P series
lets hope its included in UIQ3 though I don't recall seeing mention of it as a feature
