The regular "land line" phone I own is dying! The battery has been replaced once and that got it through another year, but the screen is mostly dead, so now I'm looking for a new one. Any suggestions? I attached a picture of my current phone which has served me well.
I don't talk on the regular phone much, so I'm looking for sound quality over battery life.
Any suggestions?

Get a digital cordless one for great sound quality, but tbh one thats not cordless will give you better quality sound, and no battery worries

check also those multi-handset phones. It has a base unit with its own handset so if there's no electricity you can still use it and it has a separate cordless unit which can act as an extension or an intercom unit. I recently bought a panasonic (forgot the model) but it's similar to the ones here:

some models can support more than one cordless unit which is really great if you have many rooms in your large house.

We have a fixed wired phone, which can pretty much take any beating.

thanks for the ideas.
i wish i didn't need the landline but i guess it's good for emergencies - so the ambulance/police/firetruck knows where to go.
or maybe T-Mobile knows where my cell is??
hmm, maybe i should search esato for topics like this..
