Hi guys,
There have been lot of discussions on this topic as to how can one install ttf fonts to Pxxx. After having seing them i tried to install a simple Arial font to my P910i. The procedure( as detailed on one of the posts) stated that we need to load the required "ttf" file to folder location C:\system\fonts... I however could not find this folder on C drive of my P910, instead the fonts folder is available on Z: drive which infact is a ROM drive... So does it meen that we cannot install user fonts on P910i??
Please do add your comments.. Thanks

Just to add that i used Profiexplorer and Sman to explore the folder formats of C and Z drive....

you have to install a little app called freetype (i think) and if im not mistaken it will create the necessary folders. then you simply just get your fonts and put them inside the c:\system\fonts directory and reboot your fone. this works for p900 but havent tried it on p910 and you can get the software from the sman site. hope this helps

You can also CREATE NEW FOLDER on your memory stick duo:
d:/system/fonts and copy the ttf files you need into this folder (including the files for the fonts styles, e.g. italic, bold, etc.)

I have tried this and it works on my P900.

@all:

Please... may I stress the importance of installing the TTF font into drive D: in folder "\system\fonts" and after you install the TrueType software.

The reason for stressing the drive D: is because there is a slight possibility that the font may screw up your phone. If that happens, you have the option of restarting your phone without the memory stick and getting the built in font to work. If it was copied in drive C:, you won't be able to remove the drive C: and you will need to bring the phone to an authorized service center to fix it.

Why the fu*k does almost everyone tell newbies to install TTF files into drive C: ?!?!?!?

You have Sman on your phone? After installation you have to restart phone before new fonts appear. Now go into Fn>Utilities>Set system font, check anti alias box, restart phone again and walla, new font.

@ajack

I didn't tell someone to install fonts in drive C.
See my previous reply, it's obviously that I recommended to install new fonts in drive D because I myself did it and it doesn't make any problem in my P900.
