Hi guys,

After upgrading to the latest firmware (R2AE033) using the Davinci Client, I noticed that menu items are surrounded by a white border (irrespective of theme). This wasn't there originally with the Orange firmware, and as far as I can tell, none of the k700 pics on the internet have this border.

The border is only apparent when you 'hover' on the menu items - please see image below

Can anyone confirm whether this is part of the firmware update, or a discrepancy please? Do other k700 users (with the same firmware) have this border?

Thanks,

Sajid

Same here.

I updated to R2AE033 using Davinci and now have that border. Doesn't bother me.

I had R2E and now R2L and have always had that border, more like a frame really, on the menu. I don't like it particularly but it helps you navigate, otherwise it might sometimes be difficult to find out where you are in certain combinations of light/colours/etc.

My Bad. I have that too. I did not see the pic earlier and I was confused as to what border you guys were talkin about.

It's not a bug but it sure is ugly! Anyone know how to get rid of it?!

I have an O2 branded phone, and it's always been there, regardless of firmware. It wasn't in the pre-production models reviewed on the Net, but I think it was added because some reviewers complained that it wasn't sufficiently obvious which menu item had been selected. As for getting rid of it, if you're correct that you didn't used to have it, maybe you should figure out which customization you used to have and see if flashing back to that changes anything.
