3DSMax is a love - hate application if ever there were one!
I love what it can do, and hate the Mount Everest learning curve/threshold
Anyway, keep up the good work! I gave up long ago. Too little time/patience

Yeah, I used to use maya, and I made some really cool models. Maya tended to have less of a learning curve, I picked it up reasonably quickly, but I was using the "PLE: Personal Learning Edition" and that leaves watermarks all over the renders, which, without a doubt, sucks.
So, I tried to use
Blender but that program's learning curve is even greater than 3Ds Max, so I gave up. I've still got it installed... MIght give it a go today...
Anyways, 3Ds Max is the program generally used to create models etc for games and special effects for films (Matrix), while Maya is used to make entire films (Finding Nemo, shrek etc).
