> V800 bug?
Bookmark topic
Hi everyone,
Just managed to get a hold of a white 802SE (aka V800). Was wondering why, when accessing the contact list, I could jump straight to the contact i want by pressing the keypad? I had to scroll up and down and when I pressed a key (any alphabet), it just doesn't return that contact(s) starting with that alphabet.
Is this a documented bug?

It appears the V802SE does not support that feature, whereas the V800 (Vodafone) does.

v802se does support that feature: you need to go to the "yomi" of the name, and enter the way the name is to be read. maybe a way to say "yomi" is transliteration, or, the way the name is to be read. once you enter the yomi, that name will be readable by the name sort command in the firmware and be available when you press and hold down the keypad.

actually both suggested above are compeltely wrong
The way this phone records contacts is different from the regular sim card. Apparently, the v802se / v800 use the Japanese - English text method. Instead of the full English. (So that it can display Japanese text and English text at the same time)
THerefore the only possible solution to your problem is to reenter all your contacts.
You cannot use the sim card transfer because the language does not support the vodafone UK simcard. Well, this is what the person at Fido Canada told me. =P seems to be true.
