> Ringtone volume problem - SE's response
Bookmark topic
Hi
My V800 has suddenly started ringing less loudly than before! It still says that ring volume is '8' (the highest) but it is much quieter than previously.
Yesterday was fine, and it hasn't been powered off in the meantime. All I've done since it rang properly was change profile (now changed back to the 'normal' one) and charge the phone (on a desk charger.)
Any ideas?
Many thanks, in advance. b:b:b:

One I'd created, with a different rigtone and volume. When I changed it back to 'normal' this morning, although it rang much more quietly, it was the correct ringtone (old phone) for the 'normal' profile.
I just powered the phone off and then on, and it's back to normal. Any ideas?

Might be some kinda minor bug which was sorted out when you restarted the phone.

Well, I would agree, except that this is the third V800 I've had, and one of the other two had to be sent back for a similar fault. Unfortunately, I can't remember whether I'd switched profiles just prior to it happening back then, but I think not.
Has anyone else had a similar problem? Would someone mind replicating the profile thing to see what happens?
I don't want to have to ring my own phone ever time I switch profiles just to check its audible...
Many thanks, b:b:b:

Sorry to return to this, but tonight - after a day of nice, full, loud ringing of phone - I got a call and a little weedy ring was all I could hear. This time, I hadn't changed profiles first, or fiddled with any settings, or... anything, really. Once again, the only way I could get my volume back was to power the phone on and then off...
I'd love to hear some suggestions, or even better potential solutions...
Thanks - b:b:b:

Just spoken to SE who have 'never heard of this fault' and suggest that I get a software upgrade as it 'sounds like a software problem'.
Any thoughts from you guys on this? It's a real hassle to get this done, but I'll do it if it's likely to work. And are there any other decent benefits of having R1J?
Many thanks...

I think this is a reason big enough to get it done mate, after all its affectin your phone's primary function ie calls

True enough, although I can still just about hear the ringer I take your point. I just wondered whether ringtone volume was the kind of thing that was likely to be improved by a firmware update and what other changes I could expect...
