u can do it online at sonyericsson.com or take it 2 your local sony ericsson centre.

if u do it online you will need a sync station i.e dss-20 or dss-25.

if your moble is still under warrenty the sony ericsson centre will do it free of charge

SEUS would be the best option. However if you would like it flashed with a different language pack, or debrand it or anythin of that sort, you could use SeTool or davinciteam.

The good thing is in South Africa, branding of phones and customising is non existent...so you don't have to worry about that!

As for updating the firmware, if the phone is still under warranty then take it to you local service point and get it done there. I know of a company called CSL (Cellular Service Logistics) that runs the stores/service points, take it to them direct and it will be done FREE as long as its under warranty.

As for online remote flashing via the SEUS system, i would stay away until its stable.
SE Tool (setoo.net) is the best you can get with regards to remote online flashing, excellent support and regular updates!
However, its a bit expensive for S. Africans since its quoted in $$ or £ or Euros.

Thankfully, we also do not have the branding problem (if that is a problem!) Here in India! This message was posted from a T230

I disagree with the South African phones not being branded. I have a branded K700 - has VodaCom pics that can't be deleted. Also seen T610s and T630s that are VodaCom branded. This message was posted from a K700i

Here in Europe's a lot of branded cellphones, which is a big shame.Vodafone Live branded is so ugly that a lot of folks dont want them.

@ HyperiaBlue go to MTN? No ways! I really like my video calls and super fast internet on VodaCom's 3G network. MTN can't offer me 3G. This message was posted from a Z1010

@rapid, oh don't you worry they will offer it to u all in good time.
MTN is rolling out EDGE, which in my opinion is a better approach.
