When I receive a phone call or text message on my phone, it shows the phone number, but the the contact (although they are in my address book). Does anybody know how you can get the contact name to show?

Hi there! Welcome to Esato. I think its a bug in the phone firmware thats not allowing you to see the name while someone calls. This message was posted from a T230

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you know if there is anything I can do to resolve this issue?

Have you saved the numbers to your sim card? Try doing that. And tell me what happens. :-) This issue has cropped up very frequently and it most probably seems a bug to me. Can you tell what firmware you have? This message was posted from a T230

Had the exact same problem on my K700. Was using firmware R2A. Yesterday I upgraded my firmware to R2L. Had the same problem again, but I then deleted my whole phonebook and then sent the whole phonebook from my Z1010 to my K700 (via bluetooth). This seems to have fixed the problem. What firmware you using? Type > * < < * < * to get to the services menu. Now go to service info then software info. Which firmware you using? This message was posted from a Z1010

I have now copied all of my details to the SIM card as suggested and it now shows the contact details as well.

Thanks you very much.

ask a friend whose number is in the list to call you or give a missed call to see if the contact name appears. :-) This message was posted from a T230

Sorry, my msg was cut short. Type > * < < * < * then go to service info and then to software info. Which version do you have? This message was posted from a Z1010

I have now put all of my contact details under my SIM card and it now seems to be working correctly, showing the contact names on both incoming calls and text messages, which is very useful.

Thanks for the advice.
