OK, someone started a thread about this a while ago, but there was no resolution to it, so I'll give it another shot...

I'm on O2, contract... my 2 friends are on O2 PAYG. I have a P900, they've both got Nokia 3410's...
When I receive a text from them, if I actually Reply to that text, then it comes up SMS Send Failed (no matter how many times I try)... however, if I go in and start off a New SMS to their number, then it sends fine.

I remember old Nokias used to have a setting that was something like "Reply via same SMS centre", however, I could not find this setting on my friends' phones, nor is there this setting on my P900... I've checked the service centre numbers on all the mobiles, and mine is set to the correct number for contract, and their's is set to the same number for PAYG....

Anyone have any idea how to fix this, cos it's a pain in the backside?!

You already know the solution. You will have to disable reply via same centre. I faced it and asked my friend to disable it, now it works fine. Btw, he use a 7250. This message was posted from a K500

Yeah, but as I said, neither my phone, nor the Nokias have that option.

Well, perhaps you could point me to where the option is, cos I can't find it!

I have this problem with a couple of my contacts too, and it's VERY annoying!

Can anybody post a step by step fix for this on the P900/P910?

Cheers all

Not sure if this will help but from my experience from where I currently am, I experienced the same prob until out of desperation, I thought I'd change the + sign to the 00 (referring to the international access code) before the recipients mobile number.

Strangely enough, it damn worked!

The annoying thing is, when I cross the border, on to the next country, I need to change it back.

Yeah, I remember that setting from my old 7110, but it doesn't seem to be there on the 3410s... O2 help desk are about as useful as a chocolate teapot too....
