> first hand knowledge when purchasing K700i

hi, can anyone have a personal chat with me over yahoo messenger? i am planning to buy the sony ericson K700i...what would be the basic 'know-hows" in purchasing one?
btw, i am from the philippines and i must admit, i am pretty much 'ignorant' to the phone i am hoping to buy.
i've been using Nokia eversince and this might be my first time to purchase a new mobile phone with sony ericson.
i just want to know what to ask or see wheni plan to buy a K700i unit.
btw, i am new here too...pls help me out.
i hope this isn't too much to ask..pardon me for being unknowledgable about these kind of things....
i was quite dumb-founded reading all forums with issues re K700i...
pls spare me a little of ur time...anyone?

Well, i dont use Yahoo, but what i can tell you is the K700i is an excellent little phone.
It will do everything you want it to, unless you want either a 3G phone for video calls, or a smartphone for business type use.

cMessenger app will let u use yahoo,msn and aol on ur k700,do a search for cMessenger on esato,or someone else can help u as im on wap atm :-)

@monica24...just make sure you check the firmware version on the phone before buying it. The last updated one is R2AE033. There's also a detailed thread about k7 firmware ...run a search for that to confirm. But i'm prety much sure about the fw version.
Other than that its a superb phone. If you're not one of those people who like storing a lot of music, vids etc on the phone, k700i is perfect. It does pretty much everything that yu could expect from a phone in its category.

if i were you, connect to the gprs type wap.yahoo.com - you will find there entrees that will lead you to yahoo messenger. from there on, you can chat with your friends. but of course, you have to mind the 25 centavo per kilobyte download. it works with smart and globe either pre-paid or post-paid. i am not really sure with sun. have a great day.

thank you everyone for being so nice and accomodating...someone mighthave misinterpreted my question but sure i learned a lot from that post too...since i am a sun subscriber...i'll need to get a new sim that supports yahoo wap though.
i guess i should get my unit first before i post any questions here...i am pretty much shamed by my silly questions here...hahahahaha! but really, thanks for the gesture of willingness to help....im soo glad.

@monica24, when you get your phone, don't hesitate to ask any questions, and don't worry too much about thinking you'll ask a stupid question, a lot of member seems to enjoy any kind of question here.
Try to check other threads and you'll understand what I mean.
