are u using windows 98? and i hope u ain't using intel pentium II and below. if not... u will never get it work even u have the correct driver.

i tried on my IBM notebook with pentium II processor. same errors came out.... the notebook can detect the phone irda but it will never succeed in trasfering files to phone or to pc.

but once i changed my operating system to windows XP. my irda just work fine with out any queston.

i guess that's the operating system problem with windows 98.

What OS are you using. I had one that worked with PII and win2K. I think win2K or winxp are better because they have built-in IR drivers.

I have the exact same problem.
My T610 used to work PERFECTLY with my laptop running xp on centrino, i don't think it is even OS or Processor specific..

It all has to do with the way IrDA is set up at laptop/pc.

Before the "Wirless File Send" or "Send File to Wireless Computer" would come up on the desktop and it used to give another option under right click "SEND TO.." menu.

But not anymore.. Since I reset & formatted and re-insalled everything to my laptop, I cannot get my T610 to act or be recognized as COMPUTER anymore.
It just recognizes as "modem" I can dial numbers via irda to my t610 without any problems, it works OK. But I cannot send/receive files between pc/t610 anymore..

There has to be some drivers or something somewhere...
any ideas?

here, I said removed & reinstalled..

let me do it once again, let's see what's gonna happen this time. I will let you know.
But I suggest you also do the same thing.

Go to My Computer's Properties, and go to Hardware & find IrDA and remove/re-install.. see what happens.

good luck.

the device manager already states
"SE T610 Infrared Modem" drivers are installed and they are the latest one.

But right now I uninstalled my IrDA all toghether with drivers, and i just uninstalled T610 Drivers as well.
Now will restart, connect to MS site to get updates.

I checked with SE site, I cannot find any drivers for T610. It returns some internal error from the SE Site.
Do you have any link to official drivers & s/w for T610 data transfer?
I love the compatibility of SE phones, but suddenly I lost it.

That's why samsungs are terrible. They require easy gprs to be installed & set up correctly.

Anyway, let me see now...

Let me try to help. If you are trying to transfer pics only then DO NOT install t610 modem drivers. Install the drivers only if you are using it as a modem. Just the is port drivers will do for transfering the pics.

I think you are right.

Everytime it asks for "connect to windows to get updated drivers" we would have to just leave it be, otherwise if we click next it updates, if we click NO or cancel it still installs from the stored directory..

i remember using it that way,.
let's see now
