In this post you will find an archive that contains a complete package for modifying some sounds for the K700.

The reason to use this package could be (1) you don't have to write your own script (2) everything is modified using only one credit (3) you don't have to deal with getting empty amr files by yourself. If you for some reason decide to manually delete/modify certain files without using this package, then you should be aware that midi files can be deleted without replacing them with empty midi files, but amr files needs to be replaced with empty amr files (otherwise a standard beep sound will play in your ear speaker when the missing sound is supposed to play).

The script deletes the following sounds:

1. Camera sound. No more camera sound - even if the volume is not set to mute.
2. Video sound. No more beep sound when recording video.
3. Removes all annoying sounds when turning the phone off, both the music sound and the beep sound.
4. Removes the annoying beep sound when the battery charger is inserted into the phone.

The script modifies the following sounds:

1. Changes the incoming file notification sound to a more discreet and comfortable sound. This sound plays when a bluetooth object is received and when a sent sms is notified as delivered.
2. Changes the sms sound number two to be the same as number one, but it has the initial short beep in it just as the T610.
3. Changes the sms sound number three to a short and discreet sound.
4. Changes the sms sound number four to a short and discreet sound.
5. Changes the sms sound number five to the original Nokia sms sound.

Everything is done in one script, so you will only have to pay one credit for all the changes. The script handles both the sounds that play from the back speaker of the phone and the ear speaker, so (for example) you will get the same sms sounds if an sms is received when you make a phone call as you get when the phone is resting on a table. The script also removes the ear speaker sound for those sounds that are deleted and replaces them with empty sounds (but only for necessary sounds, so don't worry about the fact that the script don't replace all deleted sounds with empty ones).

Instructions: Place all the files (not the folder itself) in the same folder as the SE Tool application is located. That way there is no need to modify the script since the paths to the sound files are correct. Start SE Tool and make sure you have one credit. Click the "Info" button to be sure the server is online. Click the clear names button. Click the "..." button for "Misc files" and select the file named sms.txt. Finally you press the "Write files" button and follow the instructions in the application.

Before attempting to use the package you should make sure that the battery is fully charged. It's also recommended that you read the SE Tool manual to get familiar with the basics of the application.

The package is provided "as is" and no warranty for it is given. Use it at your own risk. You should also be aware that modifying your firmware voids your warranty. If it's not legal not having a camera shutter sound (or any of the other sounds that you can remove) in a specific country, then you are recommended not to remove that/those sounds. If there are any other regulations in a specific country against modifying your firmware, then you are also recommended not to modify your firmware. These files work for me. I make no guarantees. All risks - including legal ones - rests in your hands if you use them. The script is based on information from the SE Tool homepage on how to modify sounds.

Why on earth would u want the Nokia SMS tone!
Also what are the other 'short discreet' sounds? They might be cr@p!

Would u need to buy credits to get it back to normal as well should u not want the 'modifications'

Why anyone would want the Nokia sms sound? I have no idea, but I know you don't speak for the rest of the world!

If you have to buy a credit if you don't like the sounds? No, since you wont install them if you don't like them!

You obviously haven't downloaded the package and listened to the sounds - you just looked at the instructions, nothing else!

Seeing as this is done by presumeably rewritting the f/w, could it not be rewritten to allow u to choose your own SMS tones? Or is that too complicated?

You can change anything you like with Setool, including sms alerts.
