i dont have a handsfree kit, how can i fix this as my phone is useless

when i restart the phone as it boots and when the sony animation finishes about 1/4 o
of the down the screen on the right it said handsfree and i cant speak to anyone or hear them

Maybe there is something stuck in the headphone socket, or that maybe where the problem stems from. As this would make the phone think it was in hands free mode. Have you tried borrowing a hands free kit and connecting then disconnecting it.

Sounds to me as though the headphone/handsfree socket has got something in it or something has gone wrong with it, maybe it could be replaced (easy to do) and that might cure it...

Otherwise, you could try a master reset which could possibly work - if not then you'll have to take it to Sony Ericsson..
