> help with a k700

i just got a k700 from myworldphone and its great works perfectly. the only thing i dont get is why the gprs indicator isnt always on, isnt it supposed to be? the indicator comes on if i start using gprs and goes away when i close the browser. is there anyway to change the settings to always have it on? and i wouldve checked the manual but its all in german and unfortunately for me i can only read english.

Do you mean the globe symbol ? If so, this is ment to go off when you exit gprs. The gprs signal is above your regular antenna signal and is coloured blue
. If there's no gprs signal it will change from solid blue to solid white.

im talking about the gprs signal above my atennae (sp?) signal. i know the globe goes away but the blue signal goes away also, is there anyway to make the blue signal meter stay so i know when i can access the gprs network or no? also has agile messanger for the k700 come out or do i have to d/l a different version from the website?

To switch to english: while in standby screen move joystick left, press 0 four times, joystick right. Gprs indicator: enter menu- connectivity- data communication- prefered service- gprs and gsm. But I suggest you don't do that because it'll decrease battery life and won't improve gprs much. E.g. it's supposed to work that way.

That should'nt happen with you gprs antenna. It should stay solid at all times unless theres no gsm coverage which is when it goes white. If it keeps going off I would think about getting a replacement or sorting out the problem at a
service center. There are no internal settings that you can play with in your phone to sort the problem out.
The only two things I can think of are there's a problem with the phone itself or it could be at your SP/Networks side. Either way, look into the problem straight away before its too late.
As for agile messenger I would'nt know as I've never bothered to use it on my T630, K700, S700 or P900.

I agree with @blayv, in fact the default setting in my phone was GSM & GPRS and I switched it to GSM only. I noticed a very significant increase in the standby time of my phone while the GPRS connection was just the same.

Some network operators have configured their systems so that if a subscriber is not using the GPRS service, he/she won't get any signal. Your operator might be one of the first to implement this in their system. As long as you can get a signal when you need it, I don't see any problems.
