My girlfriend picked up a Verizon VX8000 last night and after careful examination of all of it's stellar features I came to a very sad conclusion.

The P900, the world's most advanced smartphone is yesterday's news and that goes for the poorly updated P910 as well.

The WAP browsers, The S.E. internal and Opera. Very slow and with an annoying tendency to shut down on you. Most common error message. Opera Closed-Reason 3.

Random error messages and incorrect ones such as: Comms line failed. Gateway failed. Not enough memory when you have tons of megs available and even AFTER you've cleaned out the RAM with a File Manager.

The Camera....oy..in this age of Megapixel clarity this sad wimpy poorly lit VGA just makes a shutterbug like me cry. No zoom, no flash, no adjustments really, and please don't tell me to get CAMERA FX.

Communication with other cell phones: Practically non existent. Aside from text messaging most phones with MMS capabilities can't even understand what the P900 has sent them, be it: Picture, video clip or ringtones with MIDI or MP3. Attachment Dropped. That's all they can receive.

Bluetooth while very powerful is still something I find rather useless as im in the western part of the U.S. (California) and most people don't even know they have bluetooth on their phones, and if they do, do they turn it on? No.

My only hope in this case because I DO want to stick with TMOBILE and I do still support Sony Ericsson's phones for the most part is the inevitable P1000. Although there have been no details on this at all, or even an announcement that one will be made.

Where does one go from here? Is there anything out there that surpasses the P900/P910 and also has a stylus? Info is appreciated.

Well yes, the p900 is what? 2 years old? The 910 is only a minor upgrade.

I'd say the i-mate Jam is king now.

What operator / network are you on, or is your phone unbranded? The reason I ask is that I use Opera on a daily basis and have never had it crash on me with a Kernal error 3. Actually, I've never had it crash on me at all

I have, however, have other apps crash on me which is apparantly caused by the operator branding on the phone. Just wondering if your phone's problems are down to a similar thing?

Not top of the range anymore, sure, but with good software choice my p800 (on old firmware) still manages to impress. But yeah, the i-mate jam is king of the hill for now.

Valmont1978, there are new phones coming out daily. Surely you must understand any phone will soon become inferiour to other models, and in the end, obsolete. To some the P900, of which I own, is a wonderful phone that does everything I need it to, and thats all they want. If I was to keep abreast of the latest developments and have the latest phone, id be waking up with a new model and brand everyday.

comon. The Lx8000 is not even in the same league as the P900. The P900 is a legend you can use world wide, while the Lx8000 becomes useless rubble once you leave the US and Verizons network.
