if you are using a p910 the imei format is different than the previous models, you have to contact customer support for the programs you purchased informing them that you have a p910 and they will deal with the problem. and send you your registration code in the right format.

On most modern phones you have to disregard the last 2 digits of the imei number.

I had a similar problem once when I reformatted my p800. The only way I could fix it was to reformat again and perform a complete reset. It seemed to work, but I have no idea what happened to cause it in the first place.

can happen if it's a 2nd hand phone, and the previous owner modified the IMEI code for obvious fraudulent reasons. IMEI in GDFS area of Pxx phones cannot be changed, but in main flash area it can. So *#06# will display the fake number!

If the phone is new, well, I dunno!

I just had another look at a file on my C drive called plpvar.ini, which contains my IMEI number...I wonder if this file has anything to do with the incorrect number problem that nomans and I have encountered. Does anyone know what that file is used for? The file is sitting in the C:\System folder.
