As above.

I read this on bbc but can anyone explain what this actually means, is there going to be an update so current p910i users cau utilise Blackberry or will it be a new p910i wiht increased functionality.
Also would there be any great advantage in having Blackberry i.e. is it a must have or a nice to have.
Still rather have a wifi card to be honest

Hi,
I was told by my corporate service provider that it should be via a firmware update. Yes, I have tested BB client on my P910i via the installation method but somehow it fails to work after just 5 mins as my Enterprise Server keeps saying the PIN is Illegal or something similar

This may be the reason for the long overdue firmware updates for our P910i, cos R3A04 was at least 3 months or more ago

and I guess SE is busy preparing the next firmware update with a full working BB Client.
What my corporate service provider was right, is that the initial announcement in Feb/Mar 04 that BB will be available on the P900 has been scrapped, and truly, as with the announcement by SE from the above link, BB will only be supported from P910i onward.

i assume it would work on a p900 with the p910i fw? if thats the case then i would consider sending my p900 off to be upgraded. how long do you think it will be until the BB enabled fw gets into the hands of the guys that are doing the dodgy fw updates?

Hmmm....this is interesting! I have heard from a fairly reliable source that Sony Ericsson are going to release a version of Intellisync that they have licensed from RIM, so it would make sense for this to tie in with the addition of BlackBerry functionality to the P910i. Apparently, this is due to happen within the next couple of months, so maybe BlackBerry is finally on the cards or real...?
...and maybe this should be in the rumours section!

So, whats so good about the BB email client? Do you need a RIM server on a corporate network?
