Hi

I've been trying, in vain, to get my email accounts set up and working on my phones. I have a s700 and p900.

My provider is Voda UK and I have the Voda Live!, Voda MMS and Voda GPRS data accounts set up on the phone.

I'm trying to access 2 email accounts - one is my home email account for my own website, ie: liamski@liamski.com. The other is my gmail account which is now pop3 enabled.

When I try to access my email, it says 'Connecting' and just sits there, with no email coming down into the phone

My pop3, smtp etc.. settings are correct, but I think i'm missing something. Do I need an ISP to get to my email? Is there a specific Voda Internet account I need to set up to access the email?

Any help appreciated

cheers

I believe none of those are full gprs/internet data accounts

create a new data account with APN set to "internet" (no quotes and no other fields need to be filled) and assuming vodafone have you setup on their system with full internet/GPRS enabled you should have no more problems

Many thanks for your reply

On my p900, I'm going into Control Panel --> connections --> Internet Accounts

I'm then saying 'New Account', giving it a name and then going into 'Advanced'

This is the problem.. theres no field saying 'APN'.. just username, password and Account.

Am I missing something? probably!

thanks, L

did you try it on the S700 where it does say APN?

unfortunately on the p series they don't call it APN, they just call it account but its the same thing

hope you get it working!
