hi everyone. i got a p910i yesterday. i was able to create sms using the on-screen keyboard & stylus. but now, the keyboard icon on the status bar (as i'm creating a new message) can't be found. i've tried searching the archives for the answer, but i just couldn't find it. how do i make the keyboard icon appear on the status bar?

another question. i was trying to edit some of my contacts using the flip keyboard. i noticed that there is no NumLock. how do i activate this? i tried pressing the red '123' button while pressing other keys, then suddenly a screen popped from below showing all these symbols. now i can't seem to take this off. everytime i go to contacts, i see this white portion with symbols, thus i could not see the bottom part of my contacts list. how do i take this off?

thanks. hope someone can help me.

You mean the virtual keyboard? (In the first part?) This message was posted from a K500

I had the same problem. Just been a recent user of this brilliant phone. i think after we install all the software from the Cd, we just need to reboot the phone.

And after switching the phone off and on again, it works fine with the virtual keyboard back on.

Are you sure that you are in an editable field; no icon othrwise. Press the 123key twice to numlock then once to unlock.If you press and hold the 123key you get the additional sign screen. Press jogdial forward to exit or choose one. Dont you like the manual;)

thanks everyone! the list of symbols disappeared when i fiddled with the jog dial (at first i didn't even know that it can be pushed backwards and forwards!). upon taking out the battery (i couldn't even turn the phone off while pressing the power button!), putting it back on then turning the unit on, the keyboard icon appeared =)

@hsln
so THAT's how you activate NumLock. the manual's not so user friendly thanks!

I had the same problem yesterday with my new P910i.
Latest SW and FW. And I have been messing around with a lot of different softwares the past days.
This caused my phone to stop all the input exept the real qwerty keyboard.

I did remove the battery and just restarted the phone .. Ive also noticed that it was a lot faster, and the keyboard and typing on the screen worked.

That seems to be a bug that SE can't get rid of. I had a P900 before and had the same problem. Changed firmware on the P900 to no avail.

The P910i have the same problem from time to time (perhaps once every month or so). Restart the phone helps.

Yup, I think it's a bug . I get the same problem w/ my 910i once in a while. I turn off/on the phone to solve it. But I think SE should address this problem. It's annoying.
