Smartmovie is the most commonly used video converter for smartphones I think. It can convert most filetypes to one that is compatible with your phone and comes with a player and some codecs for your phone so you can play back some better quality movies. Only problem with this method is you will need another program to actually rip the video file from the DVD before converting it.

There is a program called DVD to Mobile or something like that. It can rip a DVD straight to a format that your phone can play in one step, but I haven't seen many people using it.

lonleycatgames.com for smartmovie which comes with a converter.

I use mpeg direct maker for dvd to hard drive conversion (its the simplest and best i have found) it rips dvd to any format inluding mp4 and 3ivx, you will have to search google for that as i forgot where i got it.

You will also need codecs.

Most of the needed sites are in the link within my sig below.
