Hi All,

Having recently seen the latest releases of mobile phones from a number of different manufacturers I was surprised to see that none of the models came without cameras.

I know that cameras in mobiles are great and all, but a family member of mine works in the automobile industry which as some of you may know is a highly competitive and secretive market. Employees are in theory not allowed phones with cameras. And as such it has stopped them from upgrading their phone as there are hardly any on the market that dont have cameras anymore!

Does anyone think this need will be addressed soon?

I would suggest a t68i or an ngage. That is it really? I cant think of phones without cams. This message was posted from a K500

Or a Nokia 6100, or what about the new entry level phones like the J200 and T290?

I've just bought a secondhand ngage like govigov suggested, that's a pretty good phone that doesn't have a camera! And it has they Symbian OS, so is kind of a smartphone!

But truth be told, most high-end new releases come with cameras. For example, I wanted a new smartphone without a camera and could find only the 9300.

The current phone that they have is a Noka 6310i which was THE business phone from Nokia until they discontinued it and didn't really replace it with a non-camera model.

I know a lot of business folk who were disappointed by that.

They need Bluetooth, IR, and all top spec functions in it too which a lot of the lower range phones don't from what I can see offer.

IMO, manufacturers should take a closer look at the issue and make available non-camera options for the benefit of those whose jobs are restrictive in this regard.
